Jan 26, 2026 Black Posca Paint Markers

Inspired by Magic

I’ve been playing Magic: The Gathering for about a year, and I felt compelled to create a piece inspired by it. I fell in love with the art, the structure of the game, the friendships it’s created, the strategy, and that feeling of winning. What I love most is that there truly is something for everyone.

My first deck was built around vampires, and from there I slowly branched out into other creature types. I have friends who’ve built decks centered on shapeshifters, giants, horses, and even cats and dogs. Now you can even build decks around your favorite superheroes, like Spider-Man or Wolverine.

I created this piece using black paint markers, going through about three Posca markers in total. I also wanted to finish my Godzilla sketchbook at the same time, which made the process take a bit longer than I initially expected.

I wanted this piece to feel like a point-of-view moment.
Right before a boss fight in a dungeon. You got your flaming sword and flail. A goblin scurries in, delivering weapons to the boss, while a massive troll looms in the background, silently watching the fight.

Hoarding

The horses remain, not resisting, just existing.
Coporations dont erase the picute but it crowds it.
Profit learns to speak louder than beauty, a reminder of beauty that doesn’t need permission or branding.
